Your initial consultation will occur in our Orange office location. Some procedures can even be performed right in the office. Additionally, Dr. Restifo and Dr. Mao have operating privileges at several facilities. During your consultation, we will discuss the safest and most comfortable way to meet your unique needs.
Many plastic surgery procedures are done without an overnight hospital stay in an outpatient setting often referred to as a “surgicenter”.
There are several advantages to this setting for many patients. Surgicenters tend to be less expensive than hospitals and are often designed with patient comfort and convenience in mind. The environment is usually “warmer”, with less hustle and bustle than one might find in a large hospital. There is often a higher ratio of staff to patients in a surgicenter, allowing for more attentive and individualized care before, during, and after your procedure.
Some procedures, for example those that require an overnight stay or those that are longer and more involved, are better performed at a hospital. Regardless of the setting, safety is paramount, and for this reason it is critical that your facility be accredited by JCAHO, AAAHC, or AAAASF. These accreditation agencies ensure that the facility adheres to rigid standards of patient care, safety, quality control and performance. We will have a discussion with you about which facility would be optimal for your procedure.
