Abdominal Liposuction
The abdomen is often the site of localized fat accumulation that may result in a bulge or prominence. Many patients are frustrated by their inability to correct this completely with diet and exercise. Liposuction will remove this fat from underneath the skin without leaving significant scars, resulting in an improved abdominal contour. Recovery times are minimized by this approach as well. However, the skin must have sufficient elasticity to tighten after the fat is removed. Patients with many stretch marks or generally loose or flabby skin may be better candidates for abdominoplasty.

Please note: Although many doctors perform liposuction you need to know that plastic surgeons and cosmetic surgeons typically hold different credentials and that board-certification matters. Dr. Restifo is a Harvard-educated, board-certified plastic surgeon with over twenty-five years of experience performing surgery with excellent results. He does liposuction weekly. Some (though not all) patients are good candidates for having minor liposuction done in the comfort of our Orange office location (saving money on anesthesia and facility fees).
Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can be used to remove stubborn fat and tissue from stubborn areas of the body, including the upper arms, which have a tendency to sag with age or significant weight gain or loss. The liposuction procedure can achieve a slimmer contour with minimal scarring by inserting a cannula through a tiny incision to suction out fat and tighten tissue.
Patients can achieve noticeably younger-looking arms from liposuction with short recovery times and often only a local anesthetic required. It is important for patients to maintain realistic expectations and use liposuction for minor fat reduction and shaping rather than for significant weight loss. Moreover, arm liposuction gets best results for patients whose skin is able to bounce back. An arm lift (brachioplasty) may be a better option if your skin has lost elasticity.

Lateral Thigh Lift
A thigh lift is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper legs. Candidates may suffer from loose, inelastic skin after extreme weight loss due to diet, exercise or bariatric surgery. In other cases, the outer thighs may begin to droop and sag and stubborn pockets of localized fat may develop as well. A healthy diet and exercise may not be enough to help you achieve the firm, smooth thighs you would like.
This procedure may be performed alone, or in combination with other cosmetic procedures, such as part of a body lift or with a buttock lift. When combined with other procedures, patients can achieve maximum results and enjoy a younger and more refreshed appearance overall. Your doctor will discuss your personal aesthetic goals with you in order to develop the best treatment plan for you.
A lateral thigh lift (outer thigh lift) is performed to tighten the skin around the outer thigh to form a more aesthetically pleasing frame. Your doctor will strive to produce slimmer, more contoured thighs that are proportionate to the buttocks, stomach and legs. In a lateral thigh lift, the surgical incision is made from the groin around the back of the body, and often the buttocks are lifted along with the thigh.

Medial Thigh Lift
A medial thigh lift (inner thigh lift) is performed to tighten the skin around the inner thigh. Your doctor will strive to produce slimmer, more contoured thighs that are proportionate to the buttocks, stomach and legs. In a medial thigh lift, the surgical incision is made in the inner thigh along the line where the leg meets the groin.
This procedure may be performed alone, or in combination with other cosmetic procedures, such as part of a body lift or with a buttock lift. When combined with other procedures, patients can achieve maximum results and enjoy a younger and more refreshed appearance overall. Post-Bariatric Body Contouring
Major weight loss achieved through either natural means or bariatric surgery is a great accomplishment that allows patients to significantly improve their appearance and overall quality of life, while also reducing the risk of weight-related health conditions.
After large amounts of weight loss, many patients are left with loose, hanging skin that has been stretched out by the excess weight and does not conform to the body’s new contours. There may also be one or more problem areas that has not responded well to weight loss methods and still contains localized areas of stubborn fat.
Many patients seek body contouring procedures to complete the weight loss process and achieve a smooth, toned appearance that they will be proud to show off. Body contouring procedures often target problem areas such as the:

Thigh Liposuction
A common area of fat accumulation is the upper lateral thighs, a condition often referred to as “saddlebags”. If the skin tone is good, liposuction can yield excellent results in this area, reducing the bulge and leading to a much better appearance. Incisions are small and recovery time is modest.
